PharmaNEXT Signs €90M Manufacturing Agreement with Lonza for mRNA Vaccine Production
PharmaNEXT has signed a manufacturing agreement with Lonza Group to produce mRNA vaccine candidates at Lonza's Visp facility, supporting late-stage clinical and commercial supply.
PharmaNEXT, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on mRNA therapies, today announced a €90 million contract manufacturing agreement with Lonza Group to produce PharmaNEXT’s lead mRNA vaccine candidates at Lonza’s Visp, Switzerland facility.
Under the agreement, Lonza will provide end-to-end manufacturing services including drug substance synthesis, formulation, fill-finish, and quality release testing. Initial capacity is reserved for Phase 3 clinical supply, with the agreement including an option to expand to commercial-scale production upon regulatory approval.
“Having Lonza’s manufacturing expertise behind our clinical programme significantly de-risks our path to commercialisation,” said PharmaNEXT CEO Dr. Hiroshi Yamamoto. “This agreement ensures we can deliver supply at scale from Day 1 of approval.”
PharmaNEXT’s lead candidate, PN-301, is currently in Phase 2 trials for an undisclosed respiratory infectious disease.
