NordCapital Issues €500M Green Bond to Finance Renewable Energy and Sustainable Infrastructure
NordCapital Asset Management has issued a €500 million green bond to finance renewable energy projects, green buildings, and sustainable transport across Scandinavia.
NordCapital Asset Management today priced a €500 million green bond with a 7-year maturity at a yield of 3.42%, proceeds from which are earmarked exclusively for projects meeting the EU Taxonomy’s criteria for environmentally sustainable economic activities.
Proceeds will be allocated across three use-of-proceeds categories:
- Renewable energy (offshore wind, solar): 55%
- Green buildings (BREEAM Excellent or better): 30%
- Sustainable transport (EV charging infrastructure, rail): 15%
The bond was 4.2 times oversubscribed, with demand from pension funds, insurance companies, and central bank reserve managers across 22 countries.
“The oversubscription demonstrates that institutional demand for credible green finance significantly outstrips supply,” said NordCapital CEO Erik Johansson. “We will look to issue a second tranche before year-end.”
An independent second-party opinion was provided by Sustainalytics confirming alignment with the ICMA Green Bond Principles.
