About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Astro Developer who cares deeply about web performance, clean code, and shipping work that makes a real difference. You’ll own complex builds from discovery through deployment — and you’ll be the person clients trust to get it right.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll spend most of your time in the codebase, but you’ll also contribute to technical scoping, review designs for feasibility, and help shape how we build.
What you’ll be doing
- Building and maintaining Astro-based websites and web applications
- Translating high-fidelity designs into clean, accessible HTML/CSS/TypeScript
- Owning performance budgets and making sure Core Web Vitals stay green
- Integrating CMS solutions (Contentful, Sanity, local Markdown/MDX)
- Reviewing code from other developers and contributing to shared tooling
- Collaborating directly with clients on technical requirements
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years of professional frontend development experience
- Strong working knowledge of Astro and its content collection system
- Solid TypeScript and modern JavaScript skills
- Deep understanding of web performance, accessibility, and semantic HTML
- Comfortable with Tailwind CSS and design tokens
- Experience deploying to Netlify, Vercel, or Cloudflare Pages
- Clear written and verbal communication — most of our work is async
Nice to have
- Experience building or maintaining Astro themes
- Familiarity with React or another UI framework for islands
- Previous work on content-heavy or marketing sites
- Working knowledge of structured data and technical SEO
