## About Solaris Finance

Solaris Finance is a European Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform that provides licensed financial infrastructure — accounts, cards, lending, and KYC — to fintech companies and digital brands. Founded in Berlin in 2016, the company holds a full German banking licence and serves over 70 partners across 12 European markets. We have 700 employees and are at a pivotal phase of our growth trajectory.

## The Role

We are looking for a Director of Corporate Strategy to lead the company's three-year strategic planning cycle and own the analytical and decision-making infrastructure that the Executive Board and Supervisory Board use to allocate capital. You will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and work closely with the CFO and business unit leads.

This is an individual contributor and team-building role: you will start with a small team of two analysts and be expected to build the function as the company's needs evolve.

## Responsibilities

- Lead the annual and three-year strategic planning process end-to-end — framing, analysis, workshop facilitation, and final board presentation
- Maintain the competitive intelligence function: monitor the European BaaS landscape, emerging regulatory developments, and M&A activity
- Own the corporate OKR process: design, track, and report on quarterly company OKRs to the Executive Board
- Support M&A evaluation: build financial models, lead due diligence workstreams, and project-manage integration planning for potential acquisitions
- Develop the analytical and presentation materials for Supervisory Board meetings, investor updates, and regulatory submissions
- Act as a strategic thought partner to the CEO on cross-functional initiatives and market positioning questions

## Requirements

- 6–10 years of experience in strategy consulting (MBB or Big 4 strategy practice), corporate strategy, or investment banking — with a track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder analyses to a clear recommendation
- Demonstrable experience in financial services, fintech, or payments — either as a practitioner or through sustained advisory work
- Strong financial modelling skills; comfortable building three-statement models and scenario analyses from scratch
- Executive communication skills: you can write a 5-page strategy memo and a 2-page board slide that say the same thing at different altitudes
- Fluent English; German is an advantage but not required
- Based in or willing to relocate to Berlin

## What We Offer

- €110,000 – €140,000 base salary (depending on experience) plus equity participation
- Flexible hybrid working: 3 days in our Berlin office, 2 days remote
